It's time to clean out your shoe closet! The Business Professionals of America Club will host a shoe drive "Soles for Goals" through January 10th, 2026 to raise money for club supplies, travel expenses, and other club costs. We are looking for family, friends, and members of our community to participate by recycling gently worn, used, and new shoes.
The shoes our team collects will be repurposed to help support microenterprises in developing nations such as Haiti, Cambodia, and Ghana. Microenterprises are small businesses, generally owned and operated by families of 1-2 people. Because of systemic poverty in many developing counties around the world, working-age adults have to create their own economic opportunities. These microenterprises could be as small as a stall, a shack, or a brick and mortar shop. When you do a shoe fundraiser, you help provide inventory for people worldwide. They sell the shoes you gather in their communities, which promotes commerce opportunities and leads to economic sustainability.
