Dr. Vaszauskas Campus Visit
In light of the tragic event that occurred in Florida a few weeks ago, Superintendent Dr. Vaszauskas will be visiting our campus to talk with our students about school safety on Tuesday, March 6th at 1:30 p.m. in the LRHS PAC.
Dr. V is committed to the safety and security of all students and staff members, so students should feel free to share their questions and concerns with him.
March 8th is the last day for you to verify the spelling of your name for your diploma. If you do not verify and there is an error, you will be charged a fee to get it corrected.
AP Human Mock Exam 3/7
The AP Human Mock exam is Wednesday, March 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. Mrs. Hicks's students will report to the PE Gym and Mrs. Marlar's students will report to the JV Gym. Students should go to A lunch before the mock exam. See Mrs. Hicks in A-228, if you have any questions.
Beak Week Shirts
Beak Week is almost here. This year Lake Ridge will support Make -A-Wish on March 23rd through March 29th. Beak Week shirts are on sale for $15 until March 28th. Come buy your shirts, your Beak Week passes and sign up for Bubble Soccer at the student store during all lunches.
The Varsity Lady Eagles won their game against Richland Friday 8 to 3. District play begins Tuesday at home versus Lancaster at 5:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Art Competition Winners
Big congratulations to the Lake Ridge artists that competed in VASE Art Competition this past Saturday. We earned 107 metals and 12 students advanced to state in San Antonio for the April 28th competition.

This weekend Avery Gonzales shot her personal best at the Lady Pirate Classic to help the Lady Eagle Golf team to finish 5th place. Caitlyn Lindell shot a 2 over par to finish as the 3rd place medalist.
The library will be closed Tuesday, March 6th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for AP Mock Testing.
On Saturday, March 3rd Dynasty won 1st place in the girls' division. Dynasty is the Texas Dance and Step Team Association's Girls League Champions!
The Distinguished Gents won 1st place in the boys' division. The Distinguished Gentlemen were named Texas Dance and Step Team Association's Boys' Division League Champions!

Clothes Closet Community Drive
PTSA is hosting a community drive with The Caring Place and Common Ground of Mansfield to collect travel size tooth brushes and tooth paste to create care packages. Students may donate items between March 1st and March 30th with PTSA during snack sales on Thursdays and Fridays to be entered to win free popcorn for the entire month of April. Students must donate 5 or more items to be entered in the drawing. The winner will be announced on March 30th after 3rd lunch.

Lake Ridge PTSA
Lake Ridge PTSA is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Executive Board. If you are interested in joining our awesome team, please email you request for an application to email@example.com. Applications must be submitted to the front office by March 26, 2018.
Prom Ticket Sales
Senior Prom Tickets are on sale for $85 until April 6, 2018. A permission slip is required in order to purchase a ticket. Every student must pick up a permission form from the bookkeeper. A permission slip will not be given, if student fees are not cleared.
Congratulations to the Lake Ridge Band's Varsity Winterguard for an outstanding performance and for placing 1st in their classification at the North Texas Colorguard Association Contest at Wakeland High School.
Congratulations to the following Lake Ridge Band members for earning Superior ratings at this past Saturday's UIL Region 5 Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Arlington High School: Janna Campbell, Noemi Morales, Scott Sanders, England Steele, and Asia White. In addition, Janna Noemi Scott and England Steele have advanced to the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest held in Austin in late May. Congratulations!
It's time to start thinking about getting your iPads returned. If your're not using them, dust them off and turn them in to Mr. Dean. The official Senior iPad Pick-up days will be April 17th and April 18th.
The deadline to buy your yearbook has been extended to March 9th. Order online at yearbookforever.com or see Ms. Womack in room E-131. Extra books will not be ordered.
The Lake Ridge Invitational was a tremendous success and the girls' varsity team won the meet with 203 points over the second place winner with 92 points. The JV girls also beat their competition by a 30 point margin. Please wish Jasmine Moore and Kelly Rowe luck as they travel to New York to compete at the prestigious New Balance Indoor Nationals. Ariel Ford also qualified for the New Balance meet, but opted to stay home and compete in the Border Brawl at Legacy this Saturday.
Verification Enrollment (VOE)
If you need a Verification Enrollment (VOE) for a drivers permit or drivers license, you will need to request it no later than March 8th in the attendance office. A VOE is a 24 hour process and the last day for pick up before spring break is March 9th.
Jostens will be in the cafeteria Thursday, March 8th during all lunches delivering graduation items.

Lake Ridge Choir students both hosted and performed in the MISD HS Solo-Ensemble Contest. An all-time high 60 students participated with 23 solos and 8 ensembles, with many students competing in both. The soloists and the ensembles had to prepare almost entirely on their own.
