Two teams from Lake Ridge High School stepped their way into being some of the best in the nation by finishing in top spots at a recent national competition.
Lake Ridge High’s boys step team, Distinguished Gentleman, earned the first place trophy at the National Stepping Association's Youth Division National Championship.
The 42-member girls team, Dynasty, finished in third place in the high school division after having an undefeated season at the local and state level.
The national competition took place March 23-24 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Step teams from the elementary, middle, high school and collegiate division participated in the contest.
National Stepping Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and celebration of the stepping art form, which uses a mixture of complex footsteps and handclaps to make rhythmic sounds.
