Band Success at the State 

This weekend we had several students do exceptional things at the state level.

Lane Hensley earned 7th chair trumpet in the All-State Concert Band.
Cason Cloud earned 4th chair trombone in the All-State Symphonic Band.
Dillon Akerman earned 4th chair percussion in the All-State Symphonic Band.
Lisandro Atencio earned 3rd chair percussion in the All-State Symphonic Band.
Scott Sanders earned 1st chair french horn in the All-State Symphonic Band.
Luisa Dalton earned 2nd chair flute in the All-State Philharmonic Orchestra.
Tyson Alderete was the overall 1st chair euphonium player in 6A and performed with the All-State Symphony Orchestra!

This weekend we had several students do exceptional things at the state level.

Congratulations to the Swim and Dive team for a fantastic state meet in Austin, TX. Kyle Sanchez is your first place, 1 meter diving champion! Ava Topolewski placed 7th in the 500 free and 10th in the 100 butterfly. Ryen Bosuro had a 9th place finish in the 200 freestyle. Shawn Mohseni, Khadijah Brown, and Emma Westerholm also had notable swims. Way to go Eagles!

Powerlifting

The Girls' and Boys' Powerlifting teams competed at the Summit Invitational last week. For the girls, JJ Nguyen placed 3rd and Alysa Henderson placed 1st in their respective weight classes. For the boys, Ethan Nguyen placed 3rd, Dominic Serefano, Adam Sawalha and Zimbalist Odhams placed 2nd, Danny Sobrepena and Caleb Rogers placed 1st in their respective weight classes. The boys finished second place as a team and Caleb Rogers squatted 500 lbs! Congrats to all Lake Ridge Powerlifters and good luck to the regional qualifiers!

Congratulations to the Varsity Lady Eagle Golf team for finishing 2nd in Bastrop last weekend.  Lauren Patterson shot 84, 86 earning 2nd place and the silver medal.  The JV Lady Eagles placed 3rd at Trophy Club.  Well Done, Lady Eagles!

Prom Tickets

Hey Seniors:

Prom tickets go on sale March 4th for $80 for the first week only.  Before you can purchase a ticket be sure to do the following:

Pay all outstanding fees to the bookkeeper and pick up a permission slip.

For more information on prom please attend the Senior Meetings every Tuesday after school in room A-356 or see Ms. Washington or Mrs. Schrock.

Ticket Pricing

March 4th - March 8th $80 per person

March 18th - March 2nd $85 per person

March 25 - March 29th $90 per person

April 1st - April 12th $95 per person

Purchasing a ticket:

  • Seniors may purchase up to two tickets.  A permission slip is required in order to purchase a ticket.
  • Permission Slips: Will be available starting February 27th.  Student fees must be paid to receive a permission slip.
  • Permission forms must have the senior's parent's signature, date's name, date's parent's signature (if date/guest that attends a different school is 18, no signature is needed.)
  • All fines must be paid for senior and prom date (if they attend LRHS) at the time of the ticket purchase.
  • Tickets are purchased by and given to the senior only.

Date Requirements:

Your date must be between the ages of 16 to 20 years old on the day of prom to be allowed a ticket and entrance into prom.  A current student ID is required to purchase your ticket(s).  A copy of a photo ID for your date must be attached, or the form will not be accepted.  Seniors who graduated from Lake Ridge High School early may purchase a ticket.  Foreign Exchange students between the ages of 16 to 20 may purchase a ticket regardless of grade level. 

Additional Information:

Students must clear outstanding fees with the LRHS Bookkeeper, Mrs. McMillian, prior to receiving a permission slip.  Once your permissions slip is completed, bring it to the bookkeeper's office with your payment for ticket purchasing.  All ticket sales are final.  There are no refunds or exchanges.  You will not be permitted to change your guest after April 12, 2019.  If a change is requested after April 12, 2019, you will not be permitted to bring a guest. 

Parking:

Option 1: There is a $16 fee to valet park.

Option 2: Parking Garage on Houston $7-$18 depending on length of stay or Parking Garage on Commerce $7-$18 depending on the length of stay

Option 3: Street Parking - subject to availability

The next meeting is Wednesday, March 6th in the library.  The morning meeting starts at 7:00 a.m. with check in at 6:50 a.m.  The afternoon meeting starts at 3:10 p.m. with check in at 3:00 p.m.  Seniors, this is a very important meeting for you regarding stoles and cords.

Student Parking

Student's please pay attention to the parking near the band entrance. That area has been re-stripped and student have been found parking in staff parking spaces. Student Parking is the white stripes so please make sure you are parking in the student area. Ticket's will be issued for parking in Staff.

Spirit Night 2/26

Join Lake Ridge Class of 2019 for Spirit Night on Tuesday, February 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chipotle.  Tell the cashier you're supporting Lake Ridge class of 2019 and 33% of the proceeds will be donated to Lake Ridge Class of 2019.

Art Awards

Congratulations to the artists that represented Lake Ridge in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event at Timberview.  We had 87 entrants and 84 earned a 4 and a medal.  We have 17 students that are advancing to state in San Marcos in April.

Bella Avitia, Brianna Packer, Kylie Villarreal, Ariana Rojas, Daphnie Ho, Kaylee Williams, Kerri Barton, Stephanie Nguyen, Kiyanna Abston, Schuyler Loughlin, Sean Martin, Caroline Shellenberger, Jaylon Jones, Kimberly Pinales, Ariel Tan, and Reagan Hightower.  Congratulations on a job well done.
