It's Banned Books Week. Please come to the library to enter the American Library Association's Rebel Reader Tournament hosted by Twitter, and celebrate your right to read.
The $65 yearbook deadline, and the senior tribute deadline have been extended to October 8th. Order in E-131, or online at yearbookforever.com.
Yearbook picture retakes are October 26th in the library.
The FAFSA application will open October 1, 2017. If you would like assistance completing the FAFSA application, please join us Thursday, October 5th. Representatives from the TCC Financial Aid Office will be available at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts in the computer labs the evening of October 5th to assist seniors and their families. We will have one session from 6:30-7:15, and a second session from 7:15-8:00.

Congratulations to the tennis team for a huge win over Legacy last night with a score of 14-5! The team was lead by Kennedy Cook, Grace Schmidt, Reese Gray, Ian Carvajal, Makayla Otakpor and Skylar Stover. Great job team!!
Five Eagle Choir members have advanced to round two of the TMEA ALL-State Choir auditions. Congratulations to Morgan Peugh, Brandon Gentry, Khang Tran, Obehi Omaege, and Lexi Taggart.
Students, the last day to submit a completed level change form requesting to move from a Pre AP or AP class to an on-level class is Friday, September 29th. Forms are available in the Counseling office.
Eagle Academy will be closed on Wednesday, September 27th. It will be available again on Thursday, September 28th.
Creative Writing Club
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 26th in room A-119 at 3 p.m. Meetings will be held every Tuesday and Mr. Olsen will provide snacks.
African Student Organization
There will be a meet and greet on Thursday, September 28th in room A-124 from 3:00p.m. until 4:00p.m.
League of Legends Club
Like playing game? Join the League of Legends club. This club promotes team work, competition, sportsmanship, and civility.
This club creates and programs Lego Robots to accomplish tasks, complete mazes and other cool stuff. Students will rotate between creating and programming robots, designing challenges and other engineering/construction kits.
It is open to any students and it will be good for your resume.
Distinguished Gentlemen Step Team
The LRHS Distinguished Gentlemen Step Team will hold tryouts on October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Tryouts will be located in the cafeteria from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The first two days candidates will be taught the steps and routines. The actual tryouts will take place on day three. Contact First Sargent Wade and Master Sargent Middlebrooks in room E-147, if you would like to tryout for step.
